The Talwar is a type of curved sword or saber originating from India. The word talwar is derived from the Sanskrit word Taravāri which means "single – edged sword". The talwar is a heavier & slightly less curved sword as compared to the Persian swords; although it belongs to the family of curved swords developed in Turkic Central Asia. This sword is fabricated with extensive detailed designs which make it an exclusive collector’s piece. The solid brass pommel shaped like a small saucer has decorative coloured stones within it & extends into a curved spike; the basket shaped knuckle guard displays similar design pattern on the outside & is finished with a cushioned red & gold fabric on the inside, the rain–guard continues with engraved design finish. The handle is made from carbon steel covered with brass plaited rope which is wrapped around it for enhanced grip & beauty. This elegant, one–handed sword & has a blade which is hand forged & expertly tempered from superior quality high carbon steel & has a broad fullers on both sides of the blade. The scabbard is made for quality hard wood covered with red velvet & is further decorated with locket, chape & mid ring.
